Volume keeps resetting itself when playing music

When I play my songs through Winamp they pay at a very low volume. So I go in to the Volume control window and adjust the "Wave" sound upwards and the song then plays at an audible volume. Yet when I put another song on the wave volume gos back back to zero again and the song is again very quiet. Is there any way of keeping the Wave volume the same so I don't have to keep increasing the volume before every song.

Please help

I wasn't able to do this beacuse there is no Apply button. I run windows 98 I wonder is there any other way to adjust volumes and maybe there might be an apply button there.

Thanks

i had similar probs with my ATi-TV,

have the 'play control' volumes open, then open your player, adjust levels as required, then close the player.(leave volume controls open)

then open the player again, and hopefully the volume level remains,

I don't know whether it is relevent but I installed Realplayer yesterday and I find that whatever volume I set Realplayer to overides all other settings even after a reboot.
