Have turned on my computer this morning and the volume icon that used to sit on the right hand side with the date etc is missing, have right clicked but am unable to tick the box as it's not highlighted. Any ideas?
Control Panel > Sounds and.... > Volume Tab > make sure there is a tick in the "Place volume icon in the taskbar"
Hi, Have already gone into control panel, only have a sounds icon, in there is nothing to check, what am I looking for?
I do not understand when you say you only have an icon - what happens when you double click the icon?
click here The forst image is what you should see
No I only have the sound icon in the control panel and not the sound and......So there is nothing that I can see in there to click.
What operating system do you have
Try right clicking taskbar.properties.Customize. On the right hand side of the volume tab there is a dropdown box make sure always show is showing.
I assumed that you had XP.So for VistaRight Click on an empty spot on the taskbarFrom the right click of the taskbar select PROPERTIES From the list that appears select the Notification Area tabUnder the System Icons place a check mark in the box to the left of VOLUMEClick ApplyClick OK
No have done all that already. Box is greyed out so unable to tick it.
