Volume button in Taskbar

Is their any way I can activate the Volume button in the taskbar please as it does'nt appear to be there. Sound card works but cant adjust the volume

Right click on the task bar, select properties, click task bar tab,click customise, scroll down to the little speaker click on it and select the option you want for example hide when inactive. It sounds as though it may be on Always Hide.

Control Panel>Sounds and Audio Device>General tab>Enable Place volume control on task bar.

..General tab is most often the first - in this case I should have said Volume tab.

I don't know why these are not working, type "Volume icon missing" into google and go to the MS support link.
