Are they now locked to your own sim card, or can they be sold on. I have just sold mine on ebay and the buyer says that she needs a password. I only had my sim locked and I have that in another phone. It surely couldn't be locked to just one sim card?

Is the person using a sim card that is ona different network (e.g. O2, Orange etc.)?

Could be one of the security codes to reset the phone back to original settings. Normally these are default 00000 or 12345 but are nearly always mentioned in the manual.
