Vista-XP Network File Sharing

I am having difficulty sharing accessing my XP file shares from my Vista laptop. (I can access the Vista files shares without a problem). Both computers are connected to the same network and have IPs 192.168.2.X, and are both in the WORKGROUP workgroup. I can ping the XP PC from Vista, just cannot access files. Guest account is enabled and firewall temporarily turned off. Any suggestions? I have the same admin logon and password for both computers and am logged on as admin on both.

**IF YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WITH ACCESSING AND EDITING THE REGISTRY**

Check this out - navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa

look for a DWORD "restrictanonymous" and see what the value is. If it is anything other than 0 (zero), right click the DWORD, select MODIFY and change the decimal value to 0 (zero).

A word of warning, there is a DWORD "restictanonymoussam" just below the one you want - DO NOT change this.

Close regedit and reboot the computer.
