We have vista installed on to a laptop as well as the desktop . yesterday the wi fi was working fine on the laptop ,today it wont find a network, I have read about turning off auto tuning by doing this " Click on the Start menu and type cmd in the search box. Type CTR+SHIFT+ENTER to tell the command prompt to open with elevated privileges", cmd is fine but the ctr+shift+enter is an unknown command , Can someone please assist with this . Do i type this command on the desktop or the laptop ? Thank You

Did you actually type the letters:

ctr+shift+enter

or did you press and hold the Ctrl key, the shift key, and the enter key all together?

I believe that is what they are suggesting.

So you type cmd then instead of clicking/pressing enter you press ctrl and shift and enter.
