Hey guys, Im trying to re-install windows home basic sp1.

Currently do not have the cd with the .exe file. However i do have what i think is the product key underneath the laptop on the microsoft sticker/seal.

How can i get just the .exe and use the original product key?

Do any of you guys know of any torrents i can use for this?

Im trying to solve this problem without buying an installation CD you see.

Heres a link i found on microsofts site.

If i download this will at work.

THE MAIN PURPOSE of me doing this is to rid the laptop of ALL CURRENT DATA and also change the language to english at the re-install stage.

Feedback much appreciated.

I think mf007's link will only download the Service Pack.

Do you have a friend who has a proper Microsoft Vista Home Basic CD? If so, it's perfectly legal for you to use it to reinstall the OS on your computer. Just make sure that you use your own product key from the sticker on your computer.

Alternatively, are you sure that the computer manufacturer didn't include a Windows restore sector on your hard drive?
