i can move anything into the sidebar and they work, except the calendar, when i drag the calender accross, i let go the mouse and the calendar changes to an orange square.

Why not ask in the Vista helproom?

I can't answer as I'm on XP.

Where are you trying to drag the calender too ? Try right clicking on the sidebar and add gadgets.

Do you mean an orange square with the date showing in it? If you click on the date it changes to a 'month to view' display and visa versa

(or should that be visa vista).

Are you using Right Click as skidsy says?

Then choose "Detach from sidebar (you should now be able to place it where you want it...also, if you right click and choose properties, you can remove gadgets...some of these are third party developed and can be a bit iffy.
