Vista Profile Problem

Evening all,

Last night i shut of my PC as normal. I have been out all day, and i came home and turned on my pc, logged into my user area and to my surprise all my desktop icons had gone, my wallpaper had been changed to a default vista one, all of my picture/music shortcut folders were empty, and all the Cookies and Addons in firefox were missing. Also, the usual start up programs did not run and all text appears to be rigid. I asked my father, and he apparently logged in earlier, i asked him if he did anything and he said all he did was check email. He said that when he was logging in a message came up to do with profiles, however he is quite computer illiterate and couldn't really tell me exactly what it said. His profile is almost the same as default anyway, so he wouldn't have noticed. What is wrong with my user area ;(?, i want all my stuff back!.

Thanks very much

I have heard of vista doing this before. Have you tried a system restore ??

I'm not really vista savy as i don't like it, but system restore maybe a quick fox for you.
