Vista Media Player Codec?!!!

  pinkppl 10:11 11 May 07

I have just bought a new comp. It has vista. Everytime I want to look at a video on media player or movie player it tells me
"cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again."
How do I know which codec to install and where from?!!!
Thnx pinkppl

click here and download the K-lite codec pack. It has all you will ever need.

As the K-Lite pack doesn't seem to work, you can get a similar pack for Vista from:
