I have to reformat my Vista laptop quite often, is this a problem with the operating system or is it the actual computer?

“I have to reformat my Vista laptop quite often is this a problem with the operating system or the computer?”

It could also be the user

There is no need reformat a hard drive other than the first time when installing windows

What problems were you having that you have to format the hard drive quite often?

Well, sometimes it won't get past the bar at the bottom of the screen that says loading and thats usually it other than the screen staying black on certain occasions.

Ok what is the brand and model # of the laptop

Size of memory and hard drive

Does the computer come up at any time?

Do a chkdisk on the hard drives once you can get the windows to come up

Open My Computer folder and right click on the Slave Drive – Click Properties – Click

Tools Tab –Click the Check Now button in the Error Section and select both section in

the next display and click Start.

This will do a complete chkdisk on the slave drive and fix any problems on the drive
