Is there any way I can install a 64 bit Vista on a machine which has 32 bit Vista already installed

You mean, in addition or over the top?

Can I partition the drive and have different versions of Vista on each drive?

Yes. But the boot files (bootloader) will be located on the system drive.

Also make sure the two partitions are large enough Vista doesn't like to be "squeezed".

don't know what you mean by position of the boot files
