Vista 64 bit - internet problems

I have had a new system since Friday. Internet was running fine. But over the last 24-36 hours it has become odd.

It seems to take a long time before I'm able to view a site (a minute or two) and then some times connects to a site other times it won't connect to the site.

I had tried to install ZoneAlarm but found out this wasn't Vista 64 bit compatible - could this cause the problem?

I've run AVG and there doesn't appear to be any virus.... any thoughts please!!

Well I've not had much response here!

I've done lots of searching around and came to the conclusion that I needed to reinstall my motherboard drivers as they contain the network driver and yes it has vastly improved the problem.

However on some pages they don't load and have to be refreshed before they come up.

Any thoughts on this ?!
