Virusbursters infection

  Mechtal01 11:52 05 Dec 06

I have been infected with this-which displays a small popup from a constant icon at bottom right hand of taskbar. (Windows XP). If you click on it you are directed to the Virusbursters site. It seems to also interfere with the normal loading of some programs.
I have scanned with: Spybot,McAfeee Quick Clean, Norton AV, CCleaner, Spywareblaster, Asquared, Windows Defender(!) -all up to date-with no joy.

Does anybody have any bright ideas?
Thanks very much

If you have an icon near the clock then you probably have a program starting up at boot-up.
Check in MSCONFIG/start tab to see if there is anything relating to the icon and untick it.
Right click the icon and see if there is anything in Properties which helps to locate it.
