A business colleague emailed me with details of a virus that attacks email address books the virus takes the form of a teddy bear icon and is titled jdbgmgr.exe. She has panicked and followed the solution given by the emailer which was to do a file search and when found drag or send the teddy bear icons to the waste bin then delete?. I've done a search of my laptop, out of curiosity, and low and behold I've found two of these teddy bear icons in the following files:
C:\WINDOWS\System32 and C:\WINDOWS\LastGood.Tmp\Sys ... Dates last modified 17/10/2002 and 18/02/2002 respectively.
Is it some hoaxer, or do these files now have viruses. PS I only purchased the laptop in May 2002, as new, which makes me think the 18/02/2002 file is part of the operating system.
I'de be grateful for any advice on the enclosed.
Thanks

It's an old hoax given a new lease of life by "Bugbear". While Bugbear is a real virus, jdbgmgr.exe. is just a windows file with a bear icon. They are in no way related, leave well alone.
