virus alert from D drive

I have Norton AV. It is fully updated.

When I inserted a CD-ROM that contain programs downloaded from Kazaa, Norton alerted me that a virus was detected on my computer.

(Virus W33.HLLP.Handy)

However I only inserted the disk and never excecuted any files. Will that mean that the virus is only on the CD-ROM and not on my HD?

I followed the advice of Norton and ran a full system scan and no files were found to be infected.

So am I right to think that the virus never actually transfered itself to my HD?

Hi Marky_Bhoy. I think it is most likely that Norton detected the virus on the cd and in doing so it saved your hard drive from infection.
