Norton AntiVirus has detected "High Risk" Virus on my new PC. Message as follows;

Object Name: D:\WINDOWS\System32\system32.exe
Virus Name: W32.IRCBot
Action Taken: Unable to repair this file

Any Suggestions how to remove this virus (as have saved no work on hard drive prepared to wipe clean if need be).

Here is Symantec's page on this click here with full removal instructions. Usually though if it says unable to repair it has been blocked and placed in quarantine or just completely stopped in it's tracks, have a look in reports in NAV and see what action was actually taken.
