Friend of mine, whenever he opens IE it connects and starts to look for his homepage, then after about 2 seconds the browser changes to looking for IP address 65.39.191.5. It never finishes loading it, the loading meter never gets any further than about 25% of the way across. Same happens no matter what site he tries to access, always goes back to looking for that site. Tried searching this and other forums for the IP address but nothing. While connected to internet the IE properties/settings will not open.
Not a connection problem as he can still get e-mails using Outlook Express.
Anyone any ideas?? Virus??

That address is for Flying Crocodile Inc., Seattle, Washington. USA.

No idea what they are or what they do but, get this click here and lock your homepage to the one you want it to be.

Thanks for that, never heard of them either. Thing is, he can access IE properties offline and it is showing the correct homepage. It is only when he tries to connect to his homepage and/or any others that the address changes.
He is tempted to do a complete system reinstall, must say it seems the best way. He doesn't have an OS CD only a recovery floppy!

They are a web hosting, web traffic consultancy company click here Perhaps they have 'hatched' onto your friends machine, hence the change of homepage.Remove it, otherwise the problem will remain.

Cheers Spud' I'll get him to run Spy-Bot and Ad-aware, neither of which he uses. His Anti-virus also hasn't been updated since 2002!!!
No wonder he's having problems!!
Thanks again - if this doesn't work he'll do a complete re-install.
