What Antivirus software are you using? In my Norton AV 2002, its Options - Manual Scan - Master boot records.

AVG automatically check for boot virus's, dont know it thats the same as MBR,

do you dual boot your system?

if not, useing a win98 startup disk, restart your pc with the disk in and when you get to the prompt

type fdisk /mbr

that will restore your MBR, overwriting your present one and if you do have a virus there, hopefully it will remove it.

Have you tried Panda activescan. Go to click here
and you can scan your computer for free.
