I can not seem to get it to capture at the right fps
I changed this but it still seems slow when played back
Also the same with movie maker and other software

Is it the web cam or the software that came with it

Can you be more specific about what you are trying to achieve please.
Are you trying to edit files with virtualdub that have been captured on webcam?
If that is them case what format are the files in.

Im trying to capture the picture from the webcam into virtualdub
This can then be saved or changed from avi to another format etc

But im saying it seems like the picture is in slow motion when i playback even when its still in avi
and just saved

The file needs to be saved to the computer first.
What do you use to play it back ?
Does it play OK ?
You may be missing a component called ffdshow.
Answer the questions first so I can narrow it down.

If its avi why not capture with windows movie maker

The software saves the fils as a avi file Thats using the webcams own software and
Its the same in win movie make

make no ifference if its played back or saved
still looks as if its in slow motion

Try uninstalling the webcam software, reboot then reinstall.
See if that makes a difference.
If not then install this click here
Leave the Media Player Classic box unticked when you install it.
Please do the things in the order I said and don't be tempted to install the codecpack first.
