i keep getting a little baloon message at the
bottom right side of the screen witch say
your system virtual memory is low i have 512mb in
how do i stop this problem

go>start\control panel\system\advanced tab\performance section-settings button\advanced tab\Virtual memory section-change button.

You can then either set your virtual memory to start at say 126mb and have a max of 512mb, which should be enough for you, or simply set it to "system managed size" and see what happens.

The 512mb you mention is RAM, virtual memory, sometimes called Pagefile is different click here for some useful advice.
