are you talking about page file virtual memory alotted diskspace for windows to write to??
if so that was the answer?
if you want to know how much ram your system has or can use try this.

one and ahalf time the amount of ram you machine has.
if you have 64 megs it would be 96 megs for virtual memory.

I would set the min and max settings the same. At 1024 Mb (1 Gig).

Before doing this, i would start in safe mode, and use windows defragmenter. then, when it has finished, go and change the settings for the virtual memory/page file. then reboot. This should result in a page file all in one piece.

Thanks All, Have tried the suggested 1024 setting, will see how it goes.

Real memory on Win98se can only be 512Mb unless you use a Memory Manager. Virtual Memory, is not Real Memory it is the Hard Drive that is used when you use up all your Memory, as the Word "Virtual"
