homepage removal

Having just changed my ISP from Virgin net I am finding it almost an impossible task to remove Virgin.Net as my homepage.

Virgin net send the simple advice.... but even they don't realise it fails to solve the problem.

Open a browser page, key in your ISP's home page (or whatever you require) and open it live.

Then go to Tools>Internet Options>General tab and click on Use Current Page. Apply and OK.

In my anti-virus options there is a section to prevent homepage changing, if you have this you may have to untick this box then change homepage, then retick the box.

Thanks Stuartli....should be as easy as that but I'm afraid it does not work.

This is a problem for ex users there is some connection to IE and OE - I understand I may have to uninstall one or the other of those to remove the link to Virgin....naughty eh !

You can't uninstall IE or OE, only revert back to a previous version.

Try a Repair of IE (IE and OE share the configuration).
