A friend has just had Virgin Media connected. It was understood that the connection is by fibre optics up to the house. Question :- should the connection into the house also be fibre optic OR co-axial? Co-axial has been fitted.

Co-axial into the house.

OK. One further question then. The cable laid was put directly into the soil, perhaps 4 inches down without any protective cover. Should there be some protection?

Sorry, I don't know.

My (unprotected) Virgin cable has been buried under the lawn for several years now. It comes along a conduit under the pavement, then travels through a hole in my garden wall and then under the lawn to the house.

Thanks for that. Does not look like that we ahve anything to complain about. How annoying.

up to a green box in the street, somewhere nearby.
I had it installed a month ago and the green box is about 150 yards from my house. Co-ax all the way from there.
