virgin dongle installation shows up virus...

I have just been to virgin shop where I got a 1gb alcatel usb mobile modem. When i plug it in, avira antivirus warns of Malware Found namely:- ('TR/Dropper.Gen' was found in file 'G:\Virgin Mobile Broadband Install.exe'.
Access to this file was denied.
Please select a further action.

Is this normal?

Any advice would be welcomed.

False positive.

This seems to be a problem with Avira

I would try an online scan to be sure click here

but i thought virgin would have sorted that out, i am considering returning product tomoro.Have been with virgin for 15yrs. I might pull the plug now.

Why should Virgin sort anything out, they don't have a problem its your Avira antivirus program that giving the false positive and causing this message.
Why would you pull the plug on Virgin Media if you've been with them for 15 years and your antivirus program is giving out false positive errors.

I have had a good service from virgin but because of this dongle set up i am saying goodbye to them

I really can't see why your going to leave Virgin because of the problem with YOUR ANTIVIRUS PROGRAM, have you thought that if you get a dongle from one of the other ISP's you might just get THE SAME PROBLEM, change your antivirus proble to something like AVG, Microsoft Security Essentials etc.
Seems more like cutting your nose off just to spite your face.

Virgin has/have told people nothing.
Virgin software (Alcatel) (not good)

I will not be paying anything in the future!
Will stop all my virgin accounts!

This would not have happened if set-up was ok.
