Hi all,I have been with virgin BB for 3 years, and have a cabled motorola modem.I now want to go wireless, because I have switched desktop to laptop.Do I have to buy one of the wireless routers from Virgin (£40) or would any old one work? What I mean is, is there a difference between routers for cable broadband, and routers for BT-line broadband? Thanks in advance for any help!Ellie
You will need a cable router that plugs into the modem, ADSL combined modem/routers will not work.click here Any ones of these will do.
short and sweet, but answers my question completely. Thanks loads!Next question: given that they aren't massively cheaper than the virgin one, would I be better off with theirs so I can ring them up if it doesn't work?
You would get better support from them, but I use a Linksys wrt54g and have done for nearly 5yrs with out trouble, and that is on Virgin cable.
