Viewsonic Monitor Problem

I have an Evesham system with a Viewsonic VX912 monitor, over the past week I have been experiencing problems with the monitor suddenly shutting down and going in to stand bye mode, this has happened once whilst using windows but 8-10 times whilst playing games, on one occasion the machine had to be shut down with windows reporting a serious error when restarted. This problem does not occur every day but is beginning to appear more frequently. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

This is very unlikely to be a monitor problem and is much more likely to ne associated with the graphics card. Graphics cards are likely to be working much harder when playing games than with other tasks so if your graphics card has a cooling fan check that it isn't getting clogged with dust. Also check that the processor heatsink isn't getting clogged.

This sounds like classic symptoms of an overheating graphics card.
