I have Windows Vista and a BT router. My main PC is in one room with all my photographs on it, I have a laptop that I can I can access the internet on but I would like to be able to access my photographs remotely using the laptop. Is there any way of doing this. Regards

OS of laptop? It can be done by setting up network and sharing and then the host pc is shown as a media device. The name of the network is different depending on OS hence the first question. Music can also be shared.

You will need to get them on the same network. As default XP uses the name MSHome but Vista uses Workgroup. This article Ms technet may help. On the Vista system you will need to select media sharing on in the Network and Sharing Center. It is possible that a Firewall may need to be configured and that depends on what you are using. Have a look at the article and configure the Vista system.
