Videos will not play on any website.

Whenever I go onto a website ( be it the news, YouTube or even Netflix) the video time will remain at 0:00 and all I will be able to see of the video is the first frame. None of my attempts to fix this have worked. Help please!

I had similar/same problem. I 'fixed' it / workaround by selecting the HTML5 player for YouTube ClickHere

In Firefox - Tools - Addons I have set Shockwave Flash to 'Ask to Activate' so when I encounter a vid (usually on BBC news) that doesn't use HTML5 player I click on the message on the vid 'Activate Flash Player' and then vid plays ok.

This may work for you too, hope it helps.
