Video won't display on both notebook and VGA out

Hi there,

We're having a problem with several work laptops. When playing video files with the VGA out connected, they will only show on one or the other, not both. If laptop and VGA out enabled, the VGA out display of the player is black while video plays on laptop. If we switch to only VGA out, the video plays on VGA out. This is the case whatever software we play back with (Mediaplayer 11, WinDVD, PowerDVD). Everything else displays properly on both displays, just not the video. The machines in question are a mix of ATi and Nvidia graphics chips.

Have tried updating drivers but to no avail. Any thoughts? Is it worth trying older drivers perhaps?
