I have some camcorder footage in wmm vista, is it possible to transfer this direct to vhf tape

WoW! thats a good question .You could of course burn it to dvd and then go from your dvd player to tape . Most people want to go the other way so not sure how you would do it from the pc to tape

I'd think a VGA - Scart connector should work for that? (e.g. click here)

Play the video file on the PC and record straight to VCR.

As far as I can gather, WMM for Vista has an appropriate converter built-in.

I can't otherwise see how you can record a digital video format onto an analogue device (VCR).

It's possible, however, with a Freeview set top box as the STB converts the signal back to analogue (otherwise you couldn't view it on an analogue only TV).
