Video File Splitting and Formating

I have a film to burn, but it is too big. So I decided to split it into two parts for burning on two separate discs.

I used 'Hjisplit', but it split the file into two files with an unplayable format of avi.001 and avi.002. So how can I change these unplayable formats into one which will play?

Try this. Have used it with no problems.

If you have it in dvd format either an iso file or Video ts folder you could use dvd shrink that will fit to one disc with minimal quality loss its free

Or you can use dvd flick also free that should put both files onto one dvd

Is it possible to rename the files 001.avi and 002.avi to see if these file names can be recognised???
