Video driver problems SURegCreateKey failed

Hi, this PC is running Windows ME and when you boot up it posts fine and the windows ME welcome screen appears. then at says it searching for video drivers, doesn't find them so starts the add hardware wizard. I have downloaded the drivers from the Asus website and put them on CD. However when I try to browse the CD within the add hardware wizard to tell it where they are, the CD and DVD drives aren't there. The floppy drive is there but the driver file is too big for a floppy disk.

If I skip the driver install a message appears with a toolbar heading Enum\HTREE\ROOT\0 and the message says SURegCreateKey failed.

I find this strange because the windows welcome screen appears and the windows of the add new hardware appears, surely these are using grpahics.

Another thing I have tried booting into safe mode and all I get is a grey screen with "safe mode" in all foru corners. The computer just hangs.

Hope this all makes sense.
Any ideas? Thanks, David.
