video driver error

hello all - I'm a newbie so hoping that someone can help! I have a Dell Dimension 8300 and have recently been getting a blue screen error that gives this message when followed up: "This problem was caused by Video Driver, which was created by Dell Inc.. Currently, there is no solution for the problem that you reported." Then I'm told to check for updates on Microsoft and Dell sites. (still got to do this..) Is my understanding correct in that the current driver is somehow corrupt and needs to be uninstalled and a new one installed? If so, can anyone tell me how to do this in really, really basic idiot proof language!? Thanks!
