video downloading

Just recently, when I want to watch a program via BBC iplayer, YouTube or whatever, the program stops every few seconds for downloading. Previously, this was seamless.

What might be causing the slowdown?

Another possibility is that your broadband download speed has reduced temporarily. You could check your speed at http://speedtest.net/

Done speed tests -- works out on average at 0.4mps download and 0.3mps upload.

Are these figures good, bad or just average?

Very bad. Who's your ISP and what package are you on?

ISP is Supanet. Been in touch with them re the figures. Apparently some glitch or other, and a promise to improve the speed. We'll see!
