vhs-backup video-in graphics card

I recently purchased a software program that allows copying VHS to dvd. When I loaded the program, I received a message saying I need a video-in capable graphics card. Is there a card that can be plugged into a laptop or must it be used in a desktop open slot? What is a good brand to purchase for either use (laptop/desktop)?

Aldi sell a USB capture device which accepts a signal from a VCR and converts it to digital. This will do what you want.
