VGA graphics cards & DVI-I monitors - help

  patrickbuckley 17:04 12 Jul 07

My computer has the usual 15-pin VGA graphics card, But I have just acquired a Sony LCD M51D monitor that only has a female DVI-I connector, although it does have a switch for digital and analogue. I do not know much about DVI-I and so forgive me if my questions seem trite.
1) Is it possible for such a system to work, i.e. VGA graphics card to DVI-I monitor?
2) If so, I presume that I can get some kind of adapter. If so, what type?
Or am I just stuck with an incompatible system?!!
All help appreciated.

You need an adapter to convert the DVI connector to a VGA. click here for a range of adapters. You will need to switch the monitor to analogue to work with the graphics card on your PC.
