VGA adapter

  Indigo 1 18:17 27 Dec 03

I have just managed to complete my transfer of all files and settings to my new PC. but have a problem with my Video adapter. It is not shown in Device Manager and by going to control panel, display/settings/advanced/adapter/properties/driver, it says "VgaSave" next to Service name and Display name. No tab to update drivers.

I have downloaded the latest drivers from Nvidia but after I click to install and re-boot nothing changes.

I know I must have overlooked something but am getting confused looking for it. Any advice please.

1.Delete the adaptor and try the card in another pci slot.
2.As it did work before presumably under a different operating system, have you downloaded the correct drivers for XP?

Cannot delete adapter under SVGA settings, Card is AGP, only one AGP slot. Same OS correct drivers.

It took a while to get back because I tried a different setting and was unable to boot in any mode ie. Normal, Last Known Good Config, Safe Mode etc.

Have now installed OS on spare HDD in order to access main HDD. Have deleted a prog which I suspect was causing startup probs and will try again as soon as I gain confidence !

Still not resolved (bump) Indigo 1.

Make sure you have the latest motherboard drivers installed - these usually cover both the IDE and VGA handling (as well as other things).

Then try re-installing the nvidia drivers.
