Very Strange USB problem.

Hi,

Strange USB problem here. When i plug in my USB memory stick i can hear the noise the pc makes to let me know it has picked up the USB stick ok. I can also see the green arrow on the right hand side of the takbar which i click on to safely remove the stick.

However when i open up windows explorer or My Computer the stick doesnt show up.

This is what i have tried so far to correct the problem.

Checked Device Manger....everything is ok and the drivers are ok

Tried the stick on other pcs....it shows up ok

It shows up in Disk Management....Renamed the drive letter for the stick....still doesnt show in My Computer

Disconnected all networked drives....still doesnt work

I only have one stick and one USB keyboard on the pc so its not a problem with a limited amount of power coming for the motherboard.

If i open up My Computer and type F: in the address bar and type enter the contents of the memory stick shows up ok.

I even rebuilt the pc and although the stick showed up in My Computer for a few days.....the problem re-appeared.

Its very strange indeed.

Can anyone help?

Thanks.

Is it the same regardless of which USB port you plug it into?
