Hi,

Just quickly....my brother has bought a webcam....and I we have separate areas on XP....but I dont want the webcam software to automatically start up when I'm using my area. So my question is, what do I have to do, to choose what programmes do/dont start up, upon turning the computer on?

Thanks in advance,

Jim

go to run, type msconfig, select startup and untick any programs you do not want on start up

^ Thanks,

I typed in msconfig in the run bar, but I got an error message saying that 'windows cannot find msconfig make sure you've typeed it correctly' etc..etc....

I'm now completely lost...

Hi, see if you can find msconfig yourself by using Search (all files and folders). If so you could run it from there. Just a thought. lol

If it cannot find the file, you may be able to restore it from the Full XP disc not a restore disc.
