Version Conflict Manager

For the past few days I have been getting a "Version Conflict Manager" box opening up every time I turn on my computer which states:

"Below is a list of all the files that had a more recent version number or were in a different language before Windows 98 was installed.

To restore specific files, select them from the list and click the Restore Selected Files button. The Windows 98 version of the file will be backed up so that it can be restored later."

The files in question are:

html32.cnv
Iexplore.exe

Can anyone tell me how I can get rid of this reminder and/or if it is important please? Thanks.

I am assuming that you are running Windows 98
If so, go to Start | Programs | Accessories | System Tools | System Information
Click Tools | Version Conflict Manager
Highlight the files in the VCM and click Restore Selected Files

or try

Could you go to Start | Run
Type in Msconfig
Click the Startup tab
See if you can find c:\Windows\vcmui, VCM, VCMui, or Version Conflict Manager in the Startup column. If you do see it there, there may be a tick mark to the left. Untick it and restart

try these, it worked for me.. But it was along time ago !!!! Alan
