"Verifing DMI Pool Data"

I got a strange boot up problem on Win.XP Pro - on boot up the system will go through the post test, then show the PCI Device listing and if it does'nt show "Verifing DMI Pool Data" next the system will just hang.
If I switch off and reboot several times it will eventually boot up to Windows after displaying Verifing DMI.
Anyone know what the DMI is - been through the bios settings and no mention of DMI.
Any help appreciated,
Cheers,
Mick
