Verification Fails - Dial Up Problem

  aidanone 15:59 06 Oct 07

I am having problems getting my Toshiba laptop to connect to the internet using a dial-up connection. The ISP is BT Yahoo.

When I click on the icon it goes through the usual process of dialling up, checking username and password, verifying username and password - however when it goes to the final step "Verifying Connection" - it comes back with an error message.

Has anyone any ideas to why this is happening and also - any solutions to resolve the issue??

I am trying to use IE7 and also have the windows update and firewall disabled.

Try uninstalling the ISP software & then re-installing it, re-boot pc & make sure all cables connected OK.

Are you sure that you are using the correct User Name & Password

Yes it appears to verify the username and password but then after this step it states that the connection cannot be verified.

I think i will go ahead with The Brigadiers message to uninstall and try a different provider.

Are you still Registered with BT Yahoo?

I have resolved this issue.

I uninstalled the ISP Software and when i went to reinstall the software - it report an error.

When i checked the error message out - it reported that i needed to start two services:
telephony and remote access auto connection manager.

This has now resolved the issue and I am now backup on line.

Thanks for your help.
