VCR to CD??

Hi....can anyone tell me, how do I save my VCR tapes onto cd (not DVD)...Cheapest and easiest would be nice...I have a new PC, Windows XP, and cd writer, nothing else. What sw and hardware should I get, please?

you will spend considerable amount of time to do it, so it really not a good idea not to do DVD since good DVD writer only cost £30, blank dvd cost about the same as blank CD

Actually, the best way to convert VHS to DVD (CD) is to get a standard a long recordable DVD player, Sanisburys used to sell one for £99, here is another great one
