vcd to dvd

hi i have some vcds that work fine on my pc but not on my home player.
is there a copying projram to download that will copy the vcd to dvd i have dvd-x- copy and dvd shrink 3.1 but thay wont do it.
any idear
copying to dvd+r and runnuing on xp

The only program that I know that will convert VCD is POWER VCR 2.0 by CyberLink. This will convert to mpeg, and POWER DIRECTOR by CyberLink will convert the mpeg file to DVD. Both programs cost about £30 but you could aquire a DVD player that plays VCD for less than £60 and it would save you the hassle too. TT

what you need is an encoder - you can then encode your vcd's to either svcd or dvd format that will then play on your dvd player. nero vision express is as good as any. if you havent got nero click here for alternatives
