Vanishing Status Bar

  Tazfan 00:41 10 May 03

Hi guys.

XP with IE6 with all updates etc. On most pages, I dont have a status bar. I have to keep going to View, and turning it on.
Any ides as to what may be causing this to happen? It has only started recently, and I can think of nothing that I have done/changed/installed that could do this.

As always, thanks in advance for your help, T:-)

Hi Tazfan

This sounds mental but it works:

In IE, View and tick Status bar then CTRL and close (X).

Open My Computer, View and check that Status bar is ticked.

Then Tools/Folder options, View tab and click Apply to all folders button.

it's a recognised "issue" in the Microsft Knowledge base. They just suggest that you keep reactiviating it - not really helpful. Try Vog's suggestion instead.

LOL! Cheers VoG. Tried your solution, and it seems to have worked! Not that I doubted you of course. HOW the heck did you figure THAT one out???
