Using two identical printers together

Can I use two printers, designated '1' and '2' on the same computer at the same time to print separate files?

Well I have 2 printers connected to my computer. An Epson 895 and an Epson R200.

I just tried to print two different Word docs to each printer at the same time. Worked OK. You have to change the printer in File, Print to the one you want each doc to be printed to. I also found it was a lot easier to have both files open at the same time.

Thank you both, pj123 and recap. The printers I intend using are Epson D88s. My thought is that with a run of colour printing to do from time to time I can save a bit of time. Also, if one breaks down I will still be able to use the cartridges on the 'survivor'.

I see that I can connect one by USB and the other by parallel cable.
