Using TV as Monitor

Okay firstly,

40" Technika 1080p Manual says can only connect to pc threw VGA

Windows 7 Gefore GTX 280 (2x Dvi-i ports)

Can I Simply get a VGA - DVI-I Cable and it will work?

OR will I have to get a converter from DVI - VGA and a vga cable

Or can I do either?

If there's other ways of getting better quality let me know aswell.

And I use my own speakers so I don't care about audio

Thanks in advance:)

You will certainly get a picture but you will also need an audio cable as DVI cable only carry digital video signal. No Audio. If your graphics card had a HDMI connection then you could use that to connect to a HDMI port on your TV and get both sound and video.
