Using Remote Assistance and installing SP2

My brother-in-law has SP2 for XP on a CD and is a little nervous about installing it. Can I use Remote Assistance and install SP2 for him while connected to his computer?

He also, apparently, has not got the Help and Support Centre installed, will it be on the "recovery" disc he was given with the system? if not where can I get it from? I would have thought it should have been installed with XP!

U wont be able to do much for him even if u are connected. Its just a case of click next a few times and leaving it to run. Yes, you can connect and click the buttons for him, but when it starts installing you may find that the connection is extremely slow due to his pc working, it may even drop your connection. And it will certainly drop you when it reboots ! SP2 should fix his help and support centre problem
