Using my XP PC to receive telephone calls

Dear All,

I'd be grateful of any suggestions of how I can answer a telephone call through my XP machine, hear the caller through my speakers and talk through a microphone.

I have messed about to an extent that when the phone rings, XP asks whether I want to answer the call as a fax call. Is it possible to answer as a normal phone call using standard XP ?

PS Will my microphone just plug into my soundcard ?

Cheers
Ian

modem not have two external connections? Line in from BT (?) & line out to your phone?

As per Andy999 above I started playing with phone dialer. I've got it to the point where I can dial out and it can detect incoming calls.

When I plug in my headphones with microphone (into the back of the modem) I can hear everything, but callers can't hear me !!!

Any ideas?

Cheers
